Le Temps des Arts – Awakening talents, honouring culture – is a cultural non-profit association based in Punaauia, Tahiti. Its main objectives are to:
- Promote artistic creation in theatre, dance, cinema, music
and visual arts.
- Preserve and enhance Polynesian heritage and cultural
identity.
- Foster cooperation between Pacific, European and Asian
artists.
- Develop intercultural and educational projects for young
audiences.
- Raise environmental awareness through art and performance.
Description / Summary of the Proposed Project
Perle Noire, Cœur de Nacre is an innovative audiovisual project that marks the birth of the first Polynesian drama (“P.Drama”) — a new format inspired by the international success of Korean and Chinese short dramas. Shot in vertical format (9:16) for smartphones and adapted to global streaming platforms, the series combines Polynesian storytelling, environmental awareness,and contemporary cinematic techniques.
This project embodies a bridge between tradition and digital innovation, promoting Pacific cultures through a modern, exportable format aimed at international audiences. By merging local heritage with global media trends, Perle Noire, Cœur de Nacre contributes to the creative economy and cultural
diplomacy of the European Union in the Indo-Pacific region. Its ambition is to position Polynesian audiovisual creation on the global map, fostering intercultural dialogue, sustainable creative partnerships, and the digital transformation of island storytelling.
