We are a modern network of 27 libraries. In 2025, the libraries
were visited in person 143,302 times.
On average, each of the 27 libraries hosts a wide range of
events annually, such as meetings with authors, creative
workshops, and local history exhibitions. A rich collection of
literature is available to readers, and in 2025 alone, the
collection was updated with 390 new publications.
We are more than just a place for book lending. Jēkabpils
District libraries offer a wide range of modern services.
Information and digital services: We provide access to
online catalogs and databases, as well as training to improve
residents' digital skills and media literacy.
State and municipal support: Many district libraries host
Unified State and Municipal Customer Service Centers,
providing practical assistance with e-services and benefit
applications.
Social inclusion and community: We offer new forms of
reader engagement, such as readers' club, cinema screenings
in regional areas, and special programs for children, such as
"The Little Explorer".
Local history: We preserve and digitalize the history of the
district in specially equipped local history rooms.
Our goal is to ensure a high-quality and accessible cultural
environment, fostering a knowledgeable and cohesive society.
